Google Nexus S is free, but only for a day
Best Buy has announced that starting tonight (August 2nd) at 11 p.m. CST — we’ll assume they meant CDT, aka midnight Eastern — it will begin offering the Google Nexus S for free (you read that right). Of course, you’ll still have to chain yourself to a two-year agreement with AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile to cash in on this deal, but wait a day later and the price will certainly jump back up to a full Benjamin. So set your clock, and make sure you score one either in-store or online before 11:59 p.m. CST tomorrow. Check out the full details in the PR, just past the break.
What is nexus s ?
The Nexus S is a smartphone co-developed by Google and Samsung and manufactured by Samsung Electronics. It is the first smartphone to use the Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” operating system, and the first Android device to support NFC in both hardware and software.[5] This is the second time that Google has worked with a manufacturer to produce a phone, the first being the HTC Nexus One. The base version of the phone is the GT-I9020 and it is based on the Samsung Galaxy S hardware, the principal hardware differences being the absence of support for a SD card and the addition of a near field chip.
Is nexus s good?
Since launching, the Nexus S has undergone a price drop, which we’ve now reflected in the review. We’ve also had a few more weeks to play with it, and found a few extra features we thought worth highlighting.
There’s also an improved camera section, so check out our detailed look at the snapper-power from Google’s latest design.
The Google Nexus S wasn’t supposed to happen according to Schmidt. However, the phone that we never expected has now landed in our laps and so we can use it to highlight how the latest tech can and should be used in phones.
Should I get the google nexus s tomorrow for free?
Best Buy announced that they will be giving away google nexus s for free tomorrow. I’m with AT&T, and I’m due for an upgrade. The Nexus S isn’t the newest phone, but it’s FREE. I’ve been waiting for the LG Thrill, but I don’t know if I should get the Nexus S. Also, does Best Buy have a 30 day return policy because I was thinking of just returning it when the Thrill comes out.
