Osama bin laden dead picture

I am compelled to write about 9/11, an event which affected me profoundly in ways I still do not completely understand.

As happened with Snoop Dogg death rumors over Labor Day weekend, another Internet hoax surrounding a picture of a dead Osama bin Laden is making the rounds this weekend. As the September 11 ten year anniversary approaches, the phrase is trending on websites that track popular searches throughout the day.

Back in May of this year, TMZ reported on an alleged picture of a dead Osama Bin Laden.

They wrote, “A photo reportedly showing a dead Osama bin Laden is already making its way around the Internet … but it seems pretty obvious … the photo is a FAKE”

While Osama Bin Laden was shot by US troops during a raid in Pakistan, no photos of Osama Bin Laden have been released. Meanwhile, ABC News recently wrote about a weaker al-Qaida still posing security threat.

The White House has NOT released any official death photo of Osama Bin Laden at this time.

An official has told CNN that genuine photos of Osama bin Laden do exist, showing a gunshot wound to the side of his head.

The official said due to the wounds, bin Laden’s face was “unrecognizable” in the photograph.

The report also mentioned that the photograph may eventually be released to the world.

The President announced the Americans were ‘95 per cent sure’ it was Bin Laden before they shot him – and ‘absolutely certain’ afterwards, following DNA tests.

During an interview with CBS television’s 60 Minutes, the President confirmed the pictures would remain secret however.

‘It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool.

‘That’s not who we are. We don’t trot this stuff out as trophies.

‘The fact of the matter is, this was somebody who was deserving of the justice that he received. And I think Americans and people around the world are glad that he has gone.

‘I think that given the graphic nature of these photos it would create some national security risk.’

He claimed there was no doubt among Al Qaeda members that their leader was dead, adding: ‘So we don’t think that a photograph in and of itself is going to make any difference’.

Back in May of this year, CNN also reported on fake Osama Bin Laden death images spreading on the Internet.

The Guardian has reported that the Osama bin Laden dead photo hoax has been spreading around the Internet for at least two years.

Does anyone else think that the picture of Osama Bin Laden dead looks kind of fake?

His beard was also much more grey a couple of years ago.
Did you notice that the hand and the top of the head seem to be in much better focus than the lower face, ear, and beard as well as shadow under the beard looks added in.

What do you think of President decision on Not to show picture of Dead Osama Bin Laden?

i dont think the president wants this country to appear like a barbaric hoard that posts pictures of its victims for the masses to see. I dont think we need to brag about it. Osama’s views didnt align with ours, he killed people, and we killed him. I think he’s just trying to keep it civil. there is no reason for a government to release pictures of a dead man for the public.

Hurricane preparedness

Hurricane preparedness

The White House on Wednesday urged people on the East Coast to be prepared for the possible impact of Hurricane Irene, which could pose threat to people living on its path.

Principal Deputy Spokesman Josh Earnest made the statement in Martha’s Vineyard, where President Barack Obama is having a summer vacation. He said Obama was briefed earlier in the day about the latest development of the hurricane, which could impact the Massachusetts island where Obama is scheduled to stay until Saturday.

Earlier in the day, National Hurricane Center Director Bill Read warned Hurricane Irene is expected to affect the East Coast from late Saturday, and could be a “big threat” to New England region.

“The exact center of the storm may actually stay pretty close to the coastline during the day on Saturday and then become a big threat for New England and perhaps Long Island” on Sunday, Read said during a conference call with reporters.

Irene strengthened to a major Category 3 hurricane Wednesday near the Bahamas, packing winds of 115 miles per hour (185 km per hour). It is sweeping through the Caribbean and is on a Northwestward path expected to swipe the East Coast from the Carolinas upward at the weekend, according to forecasters.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has said it is continuing to closely monitor Hurricane Irene and coordinating closely with all of its state and territorial partners in the Caribbean and along the east coast that have already or could possibly experience impacts from this storm.

7 wonders of the ancient world

7 wonders of the ancient world – Various lists of the Wonders of the World have been compiled from antiquity to the present day, to catalogue the world’s most spectacular natural wonders and manmade structures.

The 7 wonders of the ancient world is the first known list of the most remarkable creations of classical antiquity, and was based on guide-books popular among Hellenic sight-seers and only includes works located around the Mediterranean rim. The number seven was chosen because the Greeks believed it to be the representation of perfection and plenty. Many similar lists have been made.

The Colosseum, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Great Wall of China and Machu Picchu are world-famous ancient architectural wonders, but they’re hardly the only man-made structures worthy of effusive praise, enthusiastic photography and economy-stimulating tourism. These 7 historical sites, ranging from an incredibly deep well in India to the cradle of Mayan civilization – complete with the world’s first highway system – are often overlooked, but represent some of the most jaw-dropping and mysterious engineering feats from ancient times to the medieval period.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful examples of patterns in architecture, the 10th century Chand Baori well in the Indian state of Rajasthan is the world’s deepest, extending 100 feet below the surface of the earth. Built as a solution to chronic water supply issues in this arid region, the well has a total of 3,500 steps in 13 levels arranged in an inverted ‘V’ shape and is adjacent to the Harshat Mata temple. The walls are so steep that when standing at the bottom, you sometimes can’t see people who are on the steps above you. It’s difficult to imagine the construction process for such a complex stone structure with the technology available at the time. Local legend has it that ghosts built it in a single night; perhaps that accounts for its preternaturally preserved state as well.

What are the 7 wonders of the ancient world?

1- The 3 Pyramids of Egypt at Giza, outside modern Cairo.

Estimated date of completion is 2680 B.C.

2- The Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Supposedly built by Nebuchadnezzar around 600 B.C. to please his queen, Amuhia. They are also associated with the mythical Assyrian queen Semiramis. Archeologists surmise that the gardens were laid out atop a vaulted building, with provisions for raising water.

3- The Statue of Zeus (Jupiter) at Olympia

Made of gold and ivory by the Greek sculptor Phidias (5th century B.C.). The statue has been lost without a trace, except for reproductions on coins.

4- The Temple of Artemis (Diana) at Ephesus

Built around 350 B.C., in honor of a non-Hellenic goddess who later became identified with the Greek goddess of the same name. In A.D. 262, invading Goths destroyed the temple.

5- The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

Erected by Queen Artemisia in memory of her husband, King Mausolus of Caria in Asia Minor, who died in 353 B.C. Some remains of the structure are in the British Museum. This shrine is the source of the modern word mausoleum.

6- The Colossus at Rhodes

Was a bronze statue of Helios (Apollo). The work of the sculptor Chares, who reputedly labored for 12 years before completing it in 280 B.C., it was destroyed during an earthquake in 224 B.C.

7- The Pharos (Lighthouse) of Alexandria

Was built by Sostratus of Cnidus during the 3rd century B.C. on the island of Pharos off the coast of Egypt. It was destroyed by an earthquake in the 13th century.

(Some lists include the Walls of Babylon in place of the second or seventh wonder.)

Why were the 7 wonders of the ancient world in one certain area in the world?

the 7 wonders of the ancient world were predominantly in the Mediterranean area and Middle East. Within the Mediterranean area, the ancient wonders are place in Greece, Africa (Egypt), and Rome. In the middle east, the rest of the wonders were placed in Persia and Babylonia.

The 7 ancient wonders of the ancient world include the Colossus of Rhodes, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Great Pyramid of Giza, Lighthouse of Alexandria, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, and the Mausoleum of Maussollos at Helicarnassas.

The Mediterranean world (and Middle East) were the most influential areas of their time period. For one, they influence others, and they also influence future civilizations.

Which of the 7 wonders of the ancient world should be removed from the list?

I has not yet been proven that the Hanging Gardens of Babylon existed — at least at Babylon.

How many popes are saints

how many popes are saints?

I have already tried to ask this question, but I didn’t express myself properly, so I have been misunderstood. I mean: how many Saints recognized by the Roman Catholic Church or other religious authority are currently living in the world, and where are them, and what is their name? I am not talking about what you think, I mean people who have been recognized by at least one religious authority, even a priest would be fine. Also, you can tell me if you think the current Pope has any chance to become Saint

It’s a very good question.Living saints? I see and hear them everywhere; they are too numerous to count! From “head” to toe, the Church will always have her saints. Most of them would faint or run away if they heard of themselves spoken of as “saints”, except in the comforting, more universal way of Scripture.
As to the “great” saints, it is almost as frightening as it is awesome to meet them. Frightening, because when it comes to our friends, we tend to think like “men” still, and we dread their persecution by the world.

I also search for “how many popes are saints?” on Google, yahoo, msn, bing…

and the folloings are some answers:

The first one:

According to the Catholic church, there are no Saints here on Earth . . . because they’re all in heaven. Sainthood is recognized, via canonization, after the person has died. As purified and holy residents of heaven, Saints can be petitioned (in prayer) to intercede on behalf of us lowly Earthlings.

The first canonization of a Saint occurred in the year 993 when Pope John XV declared Bishop Ulrich of Augsburg a saint. Before that time, Saints were elevated through popular opinion and were usually considered to be those who died (were martyred) for their faith. There’s no authoritative number of known Saints. Estimates range from almost 2,600 to over 10,000.

The second one:

I do not think there is a comprehensive list outside of heaven.

Saints are people in heaven or on their way to heaven. All Christians dead and alive are saints.

The Catholic Church selects some of the most extraordinary examples, does in-depth research, and canonizes them.

“By canonizing some of the faithful, i.e., by solemnly proclaiming that they practiced heroic virtue and lived in fidelity to God’s grace, the Church recognizes the power of the Spirit of holiness within her and sustains the hope of believers by proposing the saints to them as models and intercessors.”

With love in Christ.

Nancy pelosi and Debt Ceiling Deal

Love her or hate her, no matter your opinion on the health care bill, would you agree that Nancy Pelosi is now one of the most formidable House Speakers in history for gathering enough votes to pass reform?

About Nancy Pelosi

Rep. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco was first elected to the House of Representatives in a 1987 special election. In 2010, Rep Pelosi was reelected to her 12th two-year term.
In January 2007, Nancy Pelosi was elected the first female Speaker of the House, and thus, become the most politically powerful woman in U.S. history. Pelosi has been the top House Democratic leader since January 2003 when she bested Rep. Steny Hoyer for House Minority Leader.

With the House poised for a nail-biting vote to raise the debt ceiling and avoid a U.S. default, Republican House Speaker John Boehner and Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi both voiced confidence the bill can pass, despite significant public opposition from within their parties.

In an interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer, Pelosi said she will “absolutely” vote yes on the compromise package, even though she agreed with one colleague who called it a “Satan sandwich.”

“It probably is – with some Satan fries on the side,” Pelosi said.

Still, Pelosi said she’s supporting the deal – and believes a sufficient number of House Democrats will follow suit – because it meets three key criteria: it extends the debt limit for 18 months without any cuts to Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid, and it establishes a balance of cuts between discretionary spending and defense.

Republican aides said Pelosi will need to secure at least 70 Democratic votes for the bill to pass – an outcome that is far from certain. “Where they have their comfort level, that’s where they’ll vote,” she said of her colleagues.

How early should I get there to see Good Morning America?

we were on Good Morning America December 21,2009. What you need to do is apply for the free tickets on line. They will write you in advance and tell you when to show up at the door. If you don’t have tickets you will probably not get in and will have to stand outside on the street. We had tickets and got there around six. It had been a blizzard a day or two before that and a few people did get in with no tickets simply because not many people were willing to face the cold to try to get in. The cast is wonderful. They will come down after the segments and talk to you. After the show they will make pictures with everyone there. We loved them all Robin, Sam, George and Juju.

What’s special about today’s Good morning america?

Ashley Hebert Says “Good Morning America”!!

It was an exciting season finale on “The Bachelorette” last night, and this morning (August 2) Ashley Hebert was in the house at “Good Morning America.”

And it’s been a busy time for Ashley, as she made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night (August 1).

Considering that Kimmel films in Los Angeles, Ms. Hebert must have caught an early flight to get to the Big Apple this morning.
